Yeah, because that happens all the time.
As for the article TC linked to, how many liberals are minorities, or good friends with one?

I mean once you see that red cap you KNOW that other person thinks that you or your friend is some sort of criminal, thug or religious nut, and a "problem that must be dealt with" so things become "great again", how not to feel uncomfortable then?
Good, keep liberals in their containment zones please.

Trump supporters can't even tell you why they support Trump accurately. "He speaks for us" "Oh really, how?" "Cause he says he does!"
lolAmerica
trump supporters are hilarious

the ones I know are into politics and some literally say he is making america great again

I ask what the fuck does that mean?.....and one fucking time did I get a coherent answer. They were all about infrastructure but i then began to ask where the money to fix infrastructure would come from in a top down scheme and I lost them.

its quite the spectacle

as for the topic
once you realize that trump supporters are programmed a certain way you can get a grasp whether they will be tolerable quickly

Hasn't happened to me, and my and my BF's families (which are mostly conservative) haven't treated us any differently when they found out.

In regards to "not taking chances," those are the same arguments we hear from religious zealots for trying to hinder other faiths and cultures from coming to our country. So, I hope that's just a poor attempt at making a satirical point.

Liberals hold us back in every aspect of society, we would have seceded by now, but the left wont let us because they need us to tax.

I only mention it when it's relevant (such as in this topic, as to why I try to avoid Republicans). The fact is, that after one group of them did it to me, for all I know any of them could do the same. And again, even if not for the fear of violence, why would I want to be anywhere near someone who doesn't think I deserve the same rights as them?

To be honest, I can understand wanting to avoid Christians and Muslims too (well, Evangelical Christians and Sharia Law following Muslims at least). For example, if a woman said she chooses to avoid Sharia law following Muslim men, I would take no issue with that. It's a rational decision to avoid people who want to take your rights away.

How do you function in real life?

You can have any "political identity" you want. Or any opinion you want.

When such identity/opinion revolves around harming others or wanting to oppress others and considering inferior and/or subhuman, then it's no longer a garden variety thing and is considered dangerous or offensive.

The poll shows almost half of liberal Democrats — 47 percent — say that if a friend supported Trump, it would actually put a strain on their friendship. Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters more broadly, the number is 35 percent. White and more-educated Democrats are more likely to feel that it's tough to even be friends with a Trump supporter.

And while partisanshipand tribalism are pretty bipartisan things in American politics today, Democrats are actually substantially less able to countenancefriends who supported the wrong candidate:Just 13 percent of Republicans say a friend's support of Hillary Clinton would strain their relationship.

Which makes sense to me. In my experiences, despite the sometimes questionable policies they support in government affairs, Republicans have been more open-minded and mature on a personal level than Democrats have been.

This is the problem with the average voter. They vote for the guy that they can relate to most, the guy they want to have a beer with, or the hottest of the two chicks (let's face it, were there a presidential election between two women, the better-looking one would win even if she's a bigger bitch than Trump is an asshole.) Oh, and when it comes to female voters, the sexier guy and/or the one who has better chemistry with his wife. Unfortunately, this makes it incredibly unlikely that we will see a gay president for a long, long time, because only a minority of Americans can relate to that.

As far as things that really hurt the candidates, only scandals hurt them, and not anything relating to horrendous policy. (Trump's statement about illegal immigrants and his statement about a Muslim registry are both policy AND scandals. Hillary's emails are also a scandal, along with her "deplorables" comment. Whereas 45% tariffs on Chinese products, extending warrantless wiretaps, repealing Obamacare, neutering the EPA, and "opening up libel laws" are all matters of policy and did not hurt Trump, because Americans are too stupid to understand policy or the constitution.)

Neocon Republicans, yes. Alt-right/Trump supporting Republicans tend to be incredibly intolerant. Especially the ones who still have yet to drop support for Trump.

Many of you are confusing indifference and apathy for hatred or similar things. The Republican party doesn't hate anyone, they just don't care about anyone who isn't rich regardless of race. Racists aren't racist because they're Republicans; they're Republicans because they're racists, since the progress of the Civil Rights era the desire to return to a time before that is inherently conservative.

Political identity will never be equal to race or orientation, no matter how much you bitch for that

Does it have to be an equal thing? The point is that they're all still important parts of your identity, and political discrimination is depressingly widespread and approved of.

How do you function in real life?

You can have any "political identity" you want. Or any opinion you want.

When such identity/opinion revolves around harming others or wanting to oppress others and considering inferior and/or subhuman, then it's no longer a garden variety thing and is considered dangerous or offensive.

When this becomes your excuse for punching the likes of Richard Spencer or Milo Yiannopoulos, then it's clear who's the more imminent threat of harming/oppressing others. It clearly just comes down to anti-conservative censorship to you, and it's sad that you're not willing to have an honest conversation about it.

I gladly support political discrimination of groups if part of their policies are about treating other groups as less than human due to their genetics.

But no one actually believes that and it's just something you throw at anyone who has a different opinion than you.

Does anyone wanna have a real discussion about this without (ironically) dehumanizing the opposition?

George Washington was called a terrorist by the English. Antifa is called terrorists by fascists. It has nothing to do with the "level of violence," and everything to do with the narrative that right-wingers are trying to establish. Nah, not really. The biggest difference is that the Republicans have largely couched their racism in softer language.
Why am I wasting time on you, your mind is already set.

Have you ever thought of opening a dialog with the opposite side?

Yeah. Then they started talking about "cultural Marxism" and "white ethnostates." That's when people realized that they were just neo-Nazis trying to rebrand themselves. Seriously. We tried opening a dialog with them, and all we got was shit that could be found in Anders Breivik's manifesto.

Given your attitude on this board, it'd probably be well-deserved.

.....They needed to do a study for that?

      Really?

Not all Republicans are Trump supporters

But all Republicans support disgusting people.

Do you really think any of the 2016 Republican candidates were decent human beings? Trump won by being the worst.

They're not terrorists just because right-wingers disagree with them.

So what level of violence do you have to go towards before you consider them terrorists?

Hitting a person over the head with a bicycle chain isn't enough?

Throwing rocks at police officers heads isn't enough?

Where do you draw that line?

Do we have to see dead bodies or people maimed before you consider them terrorists?

George Washington was called a terrorist by the English. Antifa is called terrorists by fascists. It has nothing to do with the "level of violence," and everything to do with the narrative that right-wingers are trying to establish. They used to call people terrorist sympathizers for criticizing GWB, too.

      Absurd post.
